Executive Board of Health
The Fort Wayne-Allen County Department of Health has maintained a position of leadership in the community for more than 165 years. Board members are unpaid community volunteers; their backgrounds are in medicine, business, industry, social service and law. The law requires the board include at least two MD's.The Mayor of Fort Wayne appoints three members and the remaining four are appointed by the Allen County Board of Commissioners. The board also selects the Health Commissioner.

Meetings
The board meets in the Commissioners Courtroom on the second floor of the City-County Building, 1 E. Main St., unless otherwise noted. Meetings start at 5:30 p.m. The schedule of meeting dates for 2010 is as follows:
