During week 47 (November 22-28, 2009), influenza activity continued to decrease in the U.S.
· Over 99% of all subtyped influenza A viruses being reported to CDC were 2009 influenza A (H1N1) viruses.
· The proportion of deaths attributed to pneumonia and influenza (P&I) was above the epidemic threshold for the ninth consecutive week.
· Seventeen influenza-associated pediatric deaths were reported. 251 pediatric deaths total.

ð We are in the process of making final H1N1 vaccine deliveries to our local providers. Beginning next week, feel free to offer the vaccine to everyone under age 65 years and the following week begin to offer to everyone. If you wish to order more vaccine for your patients, please call Candy at 449-3516. It is important to remember that we will very likely see another round of H1N1 vaccine beginning in late January or early February, so it is important that both patients and providers get vaccinated if they have not already.
ð The state department of health will begin a new process for vaccine delivery the week of Dec 20th.
ISDH will distribute all vaccine not ordered by local health departments to the pharmacies throughout Indiana.
