Lead Screening
Because many children with lead poisoning do not have any symptoms, the only sure way to tell is with a blood test. Ask your physician or health care provider about having your child tested.
The Allen County Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program also conducts free screenings by appointment. Walk-in screening is available on the third and fourth Monday of the month from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the Community Resource Center for Refugees, 2826 S. Calhoun St. Also, lead screening is availalbe at the Department of Health's Medical Annex, 4813 New Haven Ave., on Tuesdays. Call (260) 449-7514 to make an appointment.
For physicians:
Report lead levels to: Patty Easterday, (260) 449-7514
