News Releases > Medication Drop Box Moved to Rousseau Centre
Allows for safe disposal of unused or expired pills
(May 4, 2012)
Persons with unused or expired medications in the home can now bring them to the Rousseau Centre (formerly City-County Building) and dispose of them safely.
A free medication disposal drop box has now been placed in the first floor lobby of the building at One East Main Street. The box had been located in the Creighton Street headquarters of the Fort Wayne Police Department. It was moved when the police department relocated to the Rousseau Centre.
The drop box is only for the disposal of pills. The medication should be in its original bottle or package. No liquids or syringes can be accepted.
The drop box service is provided by Allen County TRIAD. By utilizing this program and properly disposing of medications, seniors and children are kept safe in the home and the medications are kept out of the county’s water supply. TRIAD is a partnership of law enforcement, senior citizens and community groups.
